This summer’s all about alfresco drinking & a recent addition to the scene is No.32 The Old Town. Boasting a spacious first floor roof terrace overlooking Clapham Common, it’s already regarded as the best outdoor space in Clapham and provides a chilled spot to enjoy a sunny evening and hang out with friends.
No. 32 is essentially an old pub that was recently revamped as an all-day bar & restaurant. On the ground floor, the dining room french windows open up into the street, there are long communal tables & and a large open kitchen at the rear. The space is modern & airy, kitted out in stylish decor and overall, very well designed.
Head up the stairs & past the foosball table into the slickly decorated main bar area, where you almost feel like you’re at a party in someone’s stylish living room.
The bar area leads out onto the terrace…
The drinks menu is plentiful, ranging from craft beers to wines to an excellent cocktail selection. P.S. I also like that they have their own herb garden, whose produce is not only used in the kitchen, but also to infuse their cocktails.
No. 32 is certainly a versatile venue – open all day from 9am, serving breakfast/brunch/lunch, dinner & Sunday roasts. Although, i must add that they failed to impress with the cheese plate we ordered (which tasted like low quality supermarket bought cheese) – i’ve also read that their food in general isn’t anything to write home about. Therefore, i shall be sticking to a drinks-only policy at this venue.
Dips Sips: This Clapham roof terrace is a great spot for relaxed after work drinks, weekend cocktails or a lazy Sunday afternoon chillout. A buzzy spot in the heart of Clapham & a nice place to socialise (open until 1am on Friday and Saturday with DJs playing music into the night).
